These few days, have been meeting up with my dearest friends and family non-stop and how ridiculous it is that i, who was the one who all along wanted to go abroad for university, is the one who is now feeling rather ambivalent about going.

Fri i finally met up with Jem for lunch, and it was really nice, albeit with a bit of awkwardness here and there. He left for Princeton on Saturday. It was nice to see him again, and we sat, talking about the past and the future.. and i felt somehow happy and safe. Then Micheal came to pick me up, before i was whisked away to my grandparents' house for a farewell dinner. Escaped a little early and went to Shu's party at the Tanglin Club, and after, we trucked off to this really nice pub behind Rouge - which i never knew existed!

Here, i really must comment about what some fellow, and i will not mention names, said to me, on the way to Orchard Emerald. He actually had the cheek and the gall to tell me, "Cats are GORGEOUS!" Real men hate cats. All real men do.

Around 1-ish, i took a rather harrowing cab journey to Michael's camp, where he was the Duty Officer again. And its times like this I wish I had a private and full-time photographer or camera man who could take candid shots of us just being us; engraining memories and happiness that can never be forgotten, blurred or erased.

Saturday was shopping day! Dim sum for lunch with the folks, my aunt and popo and then off to shop with my aunt and popo. Shopping is so bloody fun! Later, met Mikey and then Sean and Kerr for drinks and rubbish. Tammy and Corny came over later and we splashed around the pool, and talked about psychotic stuff.

Sunday saw me and my family - my dad forced us all, including my brother, mother, popo and aunt - going to see the fireworks. Had a lovely dinner by the river at one-fullerton (shu's parent's stuant andersons' black angus), where there was much chatter and laughter and not-so-secret-anymore revelations(tsktsk) and then was treated to a massive array of loud crackling smokey fireworks. The only thing was that all of a sudden, a million people seemed to have gathered behind us - men, women, children, old folk, u name it - and were talking loudly and edging their way forward. I'm not one to bitch, but honestly! You pay for a nice dinner so as not to join the damn crowds..but somehow, these people had pushed their way into the arena. I had to glare at a few more eager ones, who were practically pushing my chair. But all in all, a rather eventful evening with many great laughs.

Monday came round and we had our infamous all-day-and-night mahjong at Fartz's! While the last theme was Polo, today, our dearest host made us dress up in National Day colours. Of course, as soon as i heard there were going to be prizes for the best dressed, i knew what i had to do!



Fartz was REALLY the national flag, with her red shirt that went "Singapore Singapore Singapore" and oh-so-white pants to boot.


My ass! - no doubt i won "best dressed" and wonders of all wonders, actually won "earliest to arrive" at that! Well, wonders never cease..

Laughed like hell when we saw the difference between the big pillow beeboo made me and the small tiny minute shred of the one she made huahua! Zihua trying to act sad, to no avail.

Of course we ate like hell, courtesy of our most gracious host, the "national flag"..



And watched Singapore Idol - which was bloody hilarious and oh-so-painful at the same time..
