Sat was a rather interesting day.
After the lunch with the fam at the Equinox, met Weizhi and the pregnant one aka Beebs [mind you, she's still as skinny as hell, but what she wore deemed her as the "preggie"]

where we TRIED to go shopping, but instead got sidetracked when Weizhi decided to curl her eyelashes

after the preggie called her eyelids fat.
Are you going to take this insult lying down? i asked.

Apparently.
And since she took soooooooooooooo long, Beebs and i decided to get manicures!
After which we rushed back to the hotel room my parents had gotten to watch the full dress rehearsal of the national day parade.
Tess and Rebecca were already up there and THOROUGHLY BORED. Well Rebecca more so than Tess.
My 2 besties and my 2 lil Cornellians :)

Weird photo of us

The view of the parade from above

The fireworks made it all worthwhile[Tess has nicer shots, but for now..]

Dinner with Tess, Bec, the parentals and my Popo at Prego and then lo and behold, the 2 Americans brought me, the bloody Singaporean no less, to a pub i've never been to. The New AsiaBar at the Swiss Hotel, Tess' "new obsession". Where we had the nicest drinks in those cool glasses[my new addiction is their "indecent romance" which was just yum] and some guy was apparently trying to catch my eye for the longest time. DAMN. And he was cute! i just wasn't sure he was so i didnt really look into his eyes. But apparently he was! Damn. I dont know why i was so out of my element! The worst thing is, he WAS CUTE. In a nice white polo at that. The preppy look..sigh. Ah well. Anyway Tess' friend Danielle, a fellow American, came in tow with 2 of her "boyfriends" who left shortly after. So the 4 of us did some major seat-dancing and talking over the music, the contents of which are way too XXX to be posted. But it was fun! We had the whole night view of Singapore, being on the 70th floor and it was actually really pretty and picturesque. Its funny how being in a country so long you never really appreciate it until you look at it through a foreigner's eyes. And we even talked our way into getting the bouncer to let us through a cordoned off area to take a photo. And he took the picture at that! We didnt want to push it, so we were only going to take one photo which ended up with Danielle tryin to settle it with an all round comparison of "how many megapix do you have?". But Becs won it when she proclaimed "i dont care, im emailing anyway". So will post when i get the pic.
And then going down, the lift wouldn't move because it was jampacked with people but we didnt care so we threw ourselves in as well. And Becs was going the entire time how she's gonna pee in her pants if the whole lift falls 70 floors and scaring the shit out of everyone in the lift. She was lucky the lift started movin' properly coz i proclaimed i was going to pee in her pants if she kept it up. Then of course we had to bolt as soon as the lift doors opened, since we'd made so much noise, laughing and scaring the rest of the people. I always seem to end up with the rowdiest people in places.
Going home, where Tess points and goes to the cabdriver, "Stop at that hangover." Total silence. "Oh i mean that OVERHANG!" Lol So Rebecca was stunned, i thought it prob was an American term for overhang and the cab uncle didnt understand english anyway. We were SHOUTING "Left" to him the entire time and he kept going straight.

I hate that i get redder than a bloody bloody mary whenever i drink. BAH! The dreaded "Asian curse" acting up more than ever in me. Though i get red as heck when i play games too. Badminton today turned me into the red lobster personified.
Sod. 12 more days to my departure. I dont want my summer hols to endddddddddd!!!
